The Master of the Rolls has decided that the increase in the guideline hourly rates for the summary assessment of costs should be in line with the retail prices index and that the new figures will run for 12 months from 1 January 2007.

A Solicitors with more than eight years’ post-qualification experience, including at least eight years’ litigation experience;

B Solicitors and legal executives with more than four years’ post-qualification experience, including at least four years’ litigation experience;

C Other solicitors and legal executives and fee-earners of equivalent experience; and
